Carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) and its symptoms:
- Numbness and tingling sensation in hands and wrists.
- Weakness in hands. Droping the things.
- Clumsiness in hands.
- Night pain in wrists.
Causes of CTS:
- Median nerve passing through the tunnel in wrist got compressed.
- Prolonged use of laptop.
- Pregnancy.
Treatment:
- Hand splints and positioning.
- Hand exercises (Wrist Flex and Extend. Bend wrist down and use other hand to increase the stretch. Hold for 15-30 seconds.)
- Changing the hand activities.
- Nerve glide exercises recommended by a physical therapist.
- Surgery if not treated at early stage.
